Klipt is a local-first desktop application. Your clipped content, tags, collections, and notes are stored in a local SQLite database on your computer. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your content.
The Klipt browser extension injects clip buttons on supported social media sites. When you click "Klipt it," the post content is sent directly to the Klipt desktop app via Chrome Native Messaging (a local IPC channel). No data passes through any external server.
The extension does not track your browsing activity, read pages you don't clip from, or transmit any data to Klipt's servers (we don't have any).
This website uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised traffic data (pages visited, traffic source, device type). IP addresses are anonymised. No analytics are collected inside the desktop app.
Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, which acts as Merchant of Record. LemonSqueezy collects your email and payment information to process purchases. Klipt does not store your payment details. See LemonSqueezy's privacy policy for details.
You can export all your data at any time via Settings → Your Data → Export (JSON, CSV, or raw SQLite). To delete all data, simply delete the application and its data folder. Since everything is local, there is nothing to delete on our end.
Klipt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
